Editorial method

Useful enough to test.
Honest enough to trust.

Nightframe is a generated field edition: a large original synthesis designed for navigation, practice, and continued technical review. It is not a substitute for current official documentation or for checking things yourself in the field.

FIELD EDITION · 2026.08

What “generated” means here.

The library is intentionally systematic. Reusable content models create consistent target dossiers, capture protocols, processing recipes, planning briefs, gear explainers, diagnostic clinics, and safety checks.

Templates provide the questions; the value must come from target-specific constraints, software-specific sequencing, visible checkpoints, failure modes, and sources. A page that adds no decision aid, checklist, diagnostic, or worked path does not deserve to exist.

01

Original synthesis

Creator work identifies important questions and established workflows. Nightframe builds a new structure around decisions, diagnostics, and practical artifacts. We do not mass-paraphrase articles or mirror paid curricula.

02

Starting values

Exposure, guiding, processing, and equipment values are labeled as baselines. Sensor, optics, target, sky, temperature, software version, and creative intent can all change the right answer.

03

Source hierarchy

Official software documentation, manufacturers, scientific organizations, and original research support technical claims first. Expert creators add field judgment; forums surface hypotheses that need verification.

04

Image rights

No creator photography, logos, diagrams, screenshots, RAW data, presets, or downloads are reused without a compatible license or explicit permission. Credit alone is not permission.

05

Construction disclosure

Meaningful composites, tracked-sky and static-foreground blends, time blends, replacement skies, generative fill, and AI-generated imagery should be labeled clearly.

06

Commercial clarity

Gear coverage should state test method, firmware and software context, loaner status, sponsorship, and affiliate economics next to the recommendation rather than hidden in a distant footer.

Source record

What a reviewed citation should retain.

The first field edition currently provides profile-level source registries and further-reading links. Those links map the topic and are not presented as claim-level verification. Technical review should replace or supplement them with records containing:

  • Publisher or creator and exact page title
  • Direct URL, publication or update date, and verification date
  • The claim or workflow stage the source supports
  • Whether it is official, primary, first-hand, community, or secondary
  • License and usage notes for any media or practice data
  • Commercial relationship, course, software, or affiliate context

Corrections

A clear sky changes. So does software.

Technical guidance should carry a reviewed date and be rechecked when software, firmware, product specifications, ephemerides, safety guidance, or scientific understanding changes. A correction should state what changed and why rather than silently rewriting history.

This first edition does not claim third-party technical review for every generated entry. Verify safety-critical, event-critical, and current software details at the linked authoritative source.

Independence

No implied partnership.

Profiles in the creator index are independent bibliographic coverage. Inclusion does not imply that the creator contributed to, reviewed, approved, or endorsed Nightframe.

AstroBackyard and Capture the Atlas were explicit inspiration points for breadth, beginner clarity, field progression, and planning usefulness. Nightframe’s visual system, page structure, prose, tools, and article templates are original.
